Danger Does Japan
Dogo Onsen is one of Japan's oldest and most famous hot springs, located in the outskirts of Matsuyama. Main attraction is the Dogo Onsen Honkan, a Meiji Period, wooden public bathhouse, dating from 1894. Besides bathing, the elegant complex offers tea, Japanese sweets and private rooms for relaxation after the bath.
Dogo Onsen is most easily accessed by tram. The tram ride from the JR Matsuyama Station takes about 15-20 minutes. Dogo Onsen is the terminal station of three tram lines.
